“Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a basket… Let your light shine before others.” (Matthew 5:15–16)
The greatest part of you is not your talent, your success, or your achievements. The best of you is Christ living within you. That is the light Jesus speaks of—a life transformed by His grace and shared with the world.
Too often, we hide that light. We stay silent when we could speak hope. We withhold forgiveness because it is difficult. We avoid acts of kindness because they seem too small to matter. We blend into the crowd because shining can make us vulnerable.
Yet Jesus never asks us to draw attention to ourselves. He asks us to reveal the Father through the way we live. A lamp fulfills its purpose only when it gives light. In the same way, a disciple fulfills his vocation only when Christ becomes visible through his words, choices, and love.
The world does not need a perfect version of you. It needs the best version of you—the one shaped by prayer, strengthened by grace, and willing to love without fear. Every time you choose compassion over judgment, truth over convenience, or generosity over selfishness, your light shines, and someone catches a glimpse of God.
Today, don’t hide the best of you. Let Christ’s light shine through your life, so that others may discover not your greatness, but His.
