“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)

Sunday is more than the end of the week. It is the beginning of a new creation. By rising from the dead on the first day of the week, Christ transformed Sunday into the Lord’s Day—a day of worship, rest, and renewal. We do not simply attend Mass because it is an obligation; we gather because the Risen Lord gathers us. He speaks to us in His Word, nourishes us with His Body and Blood, and sends us back into the world as witnesses of His resurrection.

The Eucharist is the heart of Sunday. Around the altar, we discover who we are: God’s beloved people, united as one Body in Christ. Every Sunday invites us to leave behind the burdens of the past week and receive anew the grace to live as faithful disciples.

After Mass, let the spirit of Sunday continue. Spend time with your family, reach out to someone who is lonely, read the Scriptures, enjoy the gift of creation, and allow your heart to rest in God. True Christian rest is not merely the absence of work but the presence of the Lord.

May this Sunday renew your hope, deepen your faith, and strengthen your love. Carry the joy of the Resurrection into the coming week, becoming a living sign that Christ is alive.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, on this holy Sunday You gather Your people around Your table. Open my ears to Your Word, strengthen me with Your Eucharist, and fill my heart with the joy of Your Resurrection. May this day renew my love for You and prepare me to serve others with generosity throughout the week. Amen.
