Woundedness Exposes Hearts
In the Gospel, the man’s physical woundedness brings him before Jesus. But the encounter also exposes the hearts of everyone watching.
The woundedness of one person reveals the woundedness of others.
Some respond with compassion.
Some respond with judgment.
Some rejoice in healing.
Some are threatened by it.
The deeper question is not simply “Who needs healing?” but:
“What does my response to another person’s woundedness reveal about my own heart?”
And Jesus stands in the middle of it all, choosing to heal and preserve life.
