In today’s Gospel (Matthew 15:21–28), we meet a mother who brings her deepest pain to Jesus. Though burdened by her daughter’s suffering, she never loses hope because she trusts that Christ’s mercy is greater than every wound.
We, too, carry hidden wounds—grief, painful memories, broken relationships, fears, and disappointments. Left untouched, these wounds can become chains that keep us from living the freedom God desires for us.
Jesus invites us to bring every wound to Him. His Word is living and active. It reaches the deepest parts of our hearts, bringing healing, hope, and new life. As we listen to His voice, the chains of our past begin to loosen, and our hearts are restored.
This is why the Church never ceases to proclaim the Gospel. Every time the Word is proclaimed, Christ continues His work of healing and liberation.
Like the Canaanite woman, let us come to Jesus with persevering faith, trusting that His Word still has the power to heal every wound and break every chain.
Proclaim the Word. Break the Chains.
