Satan’s Legal Right
“Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.” (Matthew 15:13)
Satan never owned humanity, but through sin he gained a claim over fallen mankind. Christ came to destroy that claim.
In Baptism, the Father plants us in Christ and declares, “You are Mine.” We are uprooted from the kingdom of darkness and become His beloved children. The devil may still tempt and accuse us, but he no longer has any rightful claim over those who belong to Christ.
Jesus reminds us that everything not planted by the Father—including sin and the works of the evil one—will be uprooted.
When God says, “You are Mine,” every claim of the enemy is silenced.
