Jesus sends His disciples to heal, cleanse, raise, and restore. The Greek word θεραπεύετε (therapeuete) means “restore to wholeness.” Christ restores because He sees what sin and suffering cannot destroy.
We restore only what we know still has value. A damaged masterpiece is restored because its beauty remains beneath the cracks. So it is with every person. God’s image in us may be wounded, but it is never erased.
That is why no one is beyond hope. Jesus does not see us as broken beyond repair but as beloved children worth restoring. As His disciples, we are called to see others the same way—not through their wounds, but through their indestructible dignity.
